Why is my hair frizzy after a blow out?

After i straighten my hair the top layers are always frizzy but straight. Why is this? Does this mean my hair is damaged or that i'm damaging it (i don't blow it out that often though)? Is there anything i can do or any products i can use for a more sleeker look?
