What would be your opinion as to the behaviour of this man, someone I feel to teeter-totter as being friends?
Remember the song by REO Speedwagon, 'It's Time For Me To Fly', this is pretty much the answer I would give you as to whether or not the relationship with this person is worth all the frustration that he brings on...It was a song that came to mind when I thought about your question, and the term that I use whenever I am in doubt about something, whether it be friends, food, or whatever, Skydancer, and that is whenever your in doubt, throw it out! Is it even logical that the man can deny knowing that you don't understand what he is about, when you ask him, what now? Usually the person pointing the finger at someone, fails to understand that he has 3 more pointing back at him, and it does take two to tango, I understand that, and he doesn't it seems. Some people seem to not be able to function in a peaceful way without the drama, and he might be one of them. Without being rude, you can avoid him by telling him that you are not available, when he wants to come around, and not have to say anything more, if he pressures you about, just tell him you don't want to discuss it, and leave it at that..not much more to be said about it. He may quit trying to hang out with you if he hears that enough, and so be it, right? If he cannot get along, to get along, as we all should, then what's his point? You can tell him these things if you think it might help you, and it might be time for sometimes, friends just go their own way, and it might be time for you two to part ways for awhile, and live your own life in the peaceful way you want too..Hopefully there will be no hard feelings if you can break it to him that at this time you are not available to maintain a friendship in the way that he requires because you have other things in your life that you are trying to maintain, (and that is your peace, and sanity). Maybe later on you will have more time, and he will have a better attitude. Do what works for you, because you have to live it. Tell him your not Charlie Brown, and he ain't Lucy, is he? (the cartoon strip where Lucy pulls the football away from Charlie Brown, right when he get's ready to punt!)
