Will a shag haircut work for me?

The WORST cut I EVER got was a danged "shag" back in the 70's - it was a popular cut then too. My hair is straight, but REAL thick. I hated, hated, HATED it cut in a ;shag. It made me look like an old lady... AND it took over a year to grow back so that it was all the same length. My daughter DOES have REAL thick, real wavy hair. She got a shag (over my dead body almost) in high school. It was so horrible she stayed in her room for 2 days crying and wouldn't go to school. It was awful...
